Home to the Mt Compass Cup

It's a race of different kind each year and it attracts plenty of attention. The Mt Compass Cup is an Aussie favourite, the only cow race of its kind in the nation. And it has other attractions, too: The Dung Flung, the rubber boot marathon, the Milk Loading Competition and the Sponge and Grunt - All a part of the Australia Day celebrations held annually at Mount Compass.

Education

Mt Compass has both its own Preschool Centre and an outstanding area school that has operated since 1934.

Now a comprehensive community school attended by 400 students, Mt Compass is strong on eco learning, photography and information technology.

Its resources include a 4ha heritage wetland with environmental boardwalk, a 30ha agricultural studies focus farm with beef stud and small fine-timber forest, Macintosh computers for digital imaging and movie making, two science laboratories and specialist facilities for photography, technology and home economics.
